Benefits and Science of Amla Fruit

Amla, or Indian gooseberry, is a berry found on a flowering tree of the same name. The tree is found in the Middle East and parts of southeast Asia such as India, as the name would suggest. The berries are harvested from the tree and are small, round, and a bright sunny yellow color. Amla fruit is revered and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. They have been used traditionally in Eastern medicine to treat intestinal issues, inflammation, respiratory issues, liver challenges, and much more.

Amla health benefits

The healing properties of amla berries are believed to be due to their high concentration of vitamins & minerals, antioxidants, tannins, polyphenols, proteins, and amino acids. These components lend amla fruit anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and gastroprotective characteristics, which make it an invaluable natural ingredient in many different tonics, supplements, and remedies.

Known for soothing discomfort, helping with indigestion, and controlling acidity in the stomach, amla berries are a powerful, natural digestive support. These berries are also very high in fiber, which aids in faster digestion and better overall nutrient absorption. It’s no wonder we’re using it in our Daily Digestive Relief & Repair formula to help support optimal digestive health.
